I like swimming because it relaxes me. In the water, I feel my spine breathing and growing, vertebra by vertebra. This type of gentle stretching makes my body feel like it is being reborn.
I also like the liquid silence of water, it gives me a pleasant feeling of peace.
When I get out of the water, I feel like my movements are more graceful, like my back is straighter, and I feel like my mind is calm.
At one time, I used swimming as a way to burn calories, but in time I realized that if I swam in a “selfless” way, my body would be truly happy and grateful.
